Eagles vs Hampton Strikers - Saturday 19 May 2007
A cold but sunny morning saw the Eagles make their first outing into the world of league soccer. It was a brisk game marked by some outstanding goalkeeping and two goals on the part of the Eagles. The first half was pretty evenly matched play-wise, despite the Eagles being the shorter team. They were on the ball, defending well and running all over. A fantastic goal from Jared and some amazing saves from Sam, saw the first half end one all. The second half didn’t go quite as well, but the Eagles kept their heads up and their legs going, with some great tackles and good passing. Jonson scored the second goal, but unfortunately, the Hampton Strikers managed a further seven. Final score 8-2 to the Hampton Strikers. Great effort by the Eagles - well done.
